Syrinx Aruanus Also known as the Australian Trumpet is a very large marine gastropod in the family of Turbinellidae. Known to grow up to 35 Inches in size making it the largest current species of Shelled Gastropod only beaten by Fossil Gastropods of the previous eras, found in the northern part of Australia and Papua New Guinea this giant eats marine Polychaete Worms with its long proboscis

Due to the shell's unique interior with a correct cut across the point of the shell, it can become a musical instrument similar to a trumpet requiring a musician to place their hand inside the main opening of the shell and blow through the cut-off area, the position of the player's hand can change the pitch of the horn.
