Horn | Milk | Conch
Macrostrombus costatus, formerly known as Strombus costatus and Lobatus costatus, or commonly known as the milk conch, is a species of large sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Strombidae, the true conchs. They are an edible species and important food source for the inhabitants of where they are found.
Due to the shell's unique interior with a correct cut across the point of the shell, it can become a musical instrument similar to a trumpet requiring a musician to place their hand inside the main opening of the shell and blow through the cut-off area, the position of the player's hand can change the pitch of the horn.
